A note to game companies.

I have an issue. Retail PC games with steam counter-parts need to be compatible with steam. Unreal tournament 3, Call of duty Modern Warfare 2, and Dawn of War II were done right, I bought them at Wal-Mart, brought them home and registered them on steam. I no longer need the discs to install the games, I can just download them through the steam content distribution system. Just recently, I purchased Mass Effect 2 and found out that it's incompatible with steam which is a douche move as it's also available on steam. The biggest beef I have with retail copies is the need to have the CD in the tray to run the game, and cracks are not an option for me. I prefer to pay for the game in stores because it feels like you get your money's worth with a physical copy.

Bottom line: Make retail copies compatible with steam if they are also available through steam.
